Steve's Tomatoes

Our neighbor, Steve, makes these fantastic tomatoes, so he gets the credit for this recipe.  I'd post his last name too in order to actually give him credit for these, but I generally don't post personal information about people without their permission on here.

A few years ago we started making Steve's Tomatoes when we had people over for dinner or for holidays like Thanksgiving.  Everyone always seems to love them.

1. Plum Tomatoes - (1 tomato makes 2 pieces)
2. Olive oil
3. Salt
4. Pepper
5. An oven and three/four hours of time - plan ahead, this takes a while to cook

1. Preheat your oven to 250 degrees Fahrenheit.

2. Slice each tomato in half - the long way and put them on a baking sheet.

3. Pour some olive oil over the tomatoes, but not too much since it's not that healthy.

4. Put some salt and pepper on top of the tomatoes.  The olive oil will help it stick.

5. Cook these in the oven for three or four hours.  They're done when the edges start to curl.

These are really easy to make and they look impressive.  Check plus.

Note: The other vegetables in the photo above were made the same way, except that they were grilled.
